Go and Sin no more That s what some Minot residents had to say today to the owners of a downtown strip bar The owners of One O-1 a bar located in the former JCPenney buildling on Main Street had asked city leaders to approve their name change to Sin but late today they recinded that request saying they would come up with a different name The establishment recently began hiring strippers and wanted to change its name to reflect that Still a large group of unhappy residents took the opportunity to tell members of the Liquor and Gambling Control Committee this afternoon they didn t agree with the name or the type of business either Mike Fedorchak Minot It s offensive I don t like it That s my personal opinion And it shouldn t be in our community let alone Main Street Ron Boen City Alderman New York City took all of these out of the Times Square area all of em to make it a better town Minneapolis remember Hennepin Avenue was a terrible place It s not anymore Denver had Larimore Streeet These three cities are not backward communities Linda Olson Minot It is my hope an prayer that the city of Minot will develop an ordinance that strip clubs can t and won t be in the city limits of our family friendly city of Minot Others at the meeting insisted club owners remove the Sin sign immediately
